We Condemn the Killing and Persecution of Civilians in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Ukraine, Türkiye, Sudan, Yemen, and Myanmar, and Call on the United Nations to Conduct Investigations and Take Action

Reports are being published about the killing of civilians, executions, bombings, injuries, arrests, torture, enforced disappearances, displacement, and other serious human rights violations in different countries around the world. The continuation of such violence against people in the 21st century is deeply concerning and regrettable.

The Afghan International Human Rights Organization strongly condemns all forms of violence against civilians around the world, including intentional killings, bombings, torture, enforced disappearances, unlawful detention, and other serious violations. The Organization emphasizes that human life and dignity must not become victims of any political, military, ethnic, religious, or ideological conflict.

Concerned reports of the killing of civilians and human rights violations are being published from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Ukraine, Türkiye, Sudan, Yemen, Myanmar, Israel, and Palestine.

Reports have been made about hundreds of Afghan civilians being killed and injured as a result of repeated bombings by Pakistan in Afghanistan in 2026. In Pakistan, Pashtuns, Afghans, and Baloch people report arrests, killings, and enforced disappearances, saying that thousands of people have been arrested and later disappeared. Afghan refugees also report widespread cases of forced arrests, deportation to Afghanistan, loss of money and property, and mistreatment.

In Afghanistan, there are reports of arrests, imprisonment, and killings of former security forces, civilian officials, political and civil activists, and women’s rights activists by the Taliban. Civilians also complain about extremism, restrictions, and mistreatment.

Reports say that during the suppression of protests, the Iranian government has carried out killings, torture, enforced disappearances, and other serious violations against Baloch and Kurdish people, along with other people. The Iranian government also executes Afghan civilians, and there are serious concerns about this as well.

In Ukraine, civilians are being killed, injured, and displaced because of the war between Russia and Ukraine, and civilian infrastructure has been damaged. Alarming reports of human rights violations have also been published from Ukraine.

In Türkiye, Afghan refugees complain about arrests, killings, mistreatment, and forced deportation.

In Sudan, the ongoing war has exposed civilians to killings, hunger, injuries, and forced displacement.

In Yemen, the long-running war has caused the killing and injury of civilians, displacement, and hunger.

In Myanmar, civilians are facing problems caused by conflict, killings, arrests, forced displacement, and the destruction of homes.

In Israel and Palestine, civilians are also facing widespread loss of life and serious humanitarian problems.

We strongly condemn the killing, executions, bombings, torture, enforced disappearances, unlawful arrests, and other serious human rights violations against civilians. The life and dignity of every civilian are valuable, and the killing and mistreatment of civilians can never be justified.

We call on the United Nations to conduct independent, impartial, and transparent investigations into these incidents, ensure accountability for those responsible, and take serious measures to protect civilians.
