Press Commission

The Media Commission works on official communication between the Afghan International Human Rights Organization and the media, coordination, and supporting the rights of journalists.

The Afghan International Human Rights Organization believes in freedom of expression and fully supports freedom of expression, free media activities, and the professional rights of journalists. The Organization believes that free and responsible media play an important role in access to information, public awareness, and the protection of human rights.

Media organizations and journalists who want to interview the spokesperson, leadership, or relevant officials of the Afghan International Human Rights Organization, receive official information about the Organization’s activities and human rights issues, or get the Organization’s official views for news reports, can contact this Commission.

Journalists who face problems, threats,  or human rights violations during their professional work can also share their cases with this Commission when needed. Based on the nature of the case, the Commission will register the relevant information and complaint and share it with relevant institutions, organizations, and authorities to help find solutions.

Main Duties of the Commission

• Maintaining official communication and media coordination with media organizations and journalists.
• Organizing requests for interviews and official information.
• Providing an opportunity for media organizations to receive official views and information from the Organization.
• Recording complaints related to journalists and human rights violations and referring them to relevant authorities.
• Sharing the Organization’s official information and statements with the media.
